Holly Smith

  • • BA in Psychology from CU Boulder
  • • Master’s in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education Specialist License and Initial Teaching License

Holly is an Early Childhood Special Educator at Spark! Discovery Preschool. This is her first year teaching, and her first year working for Spark!, although she did volunteer at Spark! last year in Ms. Megan’s classroom. This wonderful experience led her to apply to be a teacher at SDPK, and she's very excited to be a part of the SDPK team!

Holly grew up in the South, living in Virginia, Alabama, and Georgia. She moved to Colorado in 2004 with her family and loves it here! After graduating high school, Holly received her degree in Psychology from CU Boulder. She also completed two years of an Aerospace Engineering degree, also from CU Boulder, before realizing she really loved working with kids. Holly is currently working towards a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education through CU Denver. She will be graduating in the summer of 2018.

Holly has many years of experience working with children of all ages, beginning years ago when she was 13 and started babysitting. Since then, she has worked at summer camps, church nurseries, daycares, and was a paraprofessional for the Thompson R2-J school district in 2011 and 2012. Holly is very excited to channel her interest in engineering and passion for children into being an ECSE teacher at a prestigious STEM preschool!

When not busy with work or school, Holly enjoys spending time outside walking and hiking with her husband, Jason, and Doberman Pincer, Archer. She and her husband also like dressing up as Star Wars characters at Comic Con, and Holly has fun building Star Wars Lego sets and skateboarding as well.
