Jo Fuerer

  • BS in Human Development and Family Studies, Colorado Teaching license in Early Childhood Education
  • MA in Education and Human Development with a concentration in early literacy, CU - Denver
Jo has lived in Colorado since 2001 but is originally from Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech University and has been working with preschool age children for over 10 years in both private and public schools. She was a recent graduate from the Friends Teacher Preparation Program while simultaneously taking Masters’ classes at The University of Colorado-Denver for a MA in Education and Human Development with a concentration in early literacy, which she finished in 2017. 
While at St. Vrain, Sonya Jo has been a full –time substitute, preschool paraprofessional, and teacher. She is very fortunate and humbled to be a part of the Spark team and partner with parents to build a strong class community. Sonya Jo is excited to share the love of learning with her class and build and develop a curious mind for all of the preschoolers at Spark! Discovery Preschool through hands-on, fun and engaging activities.
In her free time, Jo enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, who is a 4th grader in a St. Vrain Valley School, jogging, knitting and exploring our wonderful state of Colorado.
