Ms. Alyssa's update 10-26-17

Ms. Alyssa’s Weekly Update 10.26.17

Tomorrow night is Trick-or-Treat street at 4:30. This is your child’s chance to wear their costume to school and to get candy. Students aren’t allowed to wear costumes next week, so I hope to see you all at trick-or-treat street.

This Week:

  • We learned about the color brown. We sang the brown song to learn how to spell brown and what things are brown.

  • We learned about cones. This is one of the easier 3D shapes for preschoolers because they are easy to find in our world. Point out traffic cones, ice cream cones and party hats if you see them.

  • We discussed the number 9 and practiced recognizing it, writing it and counting to 9. To write the number 9, we “make a circle and come right down, that’s the number 9.”

  • We met PeeWee Penguin (Pp) and Bubba Bear (Letter Bb) and practiced the sounds they make and how to write them.

  • We learned about germs, the importance of brushing our teeth twice a day and other ways to keep our bodies healthy. The students loved our activities about brushing teeth like flossing playdoh out of blocks!

Next Week:

  • Color: Pink

  • Shape: Cube

  • Number: Ten (10)

  • Letters: Robby Rabbit (Rr) and Kayo Kangaroo (Kk)
