Ms. Jo's Update 4-20-17

Hi Families,

I hope you had a great week.  I introduced our new STEM unit called making music.  We learned about listening to sounds.  We went on a nature walk and listened and marked the sounds we heard.  We played a listening game with sounds you hear in everyday life.  The afternoon class, was entertained by a guitarist.  Thank you Nana for arranging it.  If you know of any other musician and would like to have them come in.  Please let me know.  Our letters, number, and color of the week:  R,V,K,A, M, 3 and blue.  We played letter bingo, counting cakes, shorting, played in the music store and used snap blocks.  Some students wrote a story through a story champ model.  These were some of the most popular activities of the week.

Week of April 24th:

Stem Unit: Music focus string instruments

Letters for the week: N, W, X, Y, Z

Shape, number, and color: prism, 3, orange

MakerSpace for all classes this week

Thurs. The 27th from 6-7PM: A free parenting session on Mathematics knowledge and skills for preschoolers.  Free childcare and light refreshments provided.

I hope to see you at the Carnival this Friday the 21st from 4-7. If you haven’t returned your survey, I would appreciate it.  It will help me grow as a teacher.  I only get the feedback.  The surveys go straight to Ms. Paige!

Best,

Jo
