Ms. Marie’s update 9-13-17

Ms. Marie and Ms. Julie’s September 13th 2017 Update:

Dear Preschool Families,

This is a reminder that tomorrow, September 14th is Pajama Day.  This is a PTO fundraiser.  If you would like your child to participate, then please send them to school in their pajamas.  A $1.00 donation per child is requested, but not required.

Also, please send in your Scholastic book orders tomorrow in your child’s backpack if you would like to purchase books through this program.

If you have not done so yet, please send in a family picture.  We have not received many and we would like to post them in our classroom.

This week’s focus has been:

Letters: E, H

Color: Orange

Number: 2

Shape: Square

The PATHS lesson demonstrated the emotion of feeling Mad.

The children have been learning about air travel this week in our STEM unit on Transportation. The children are showing how they are learning the classroom routines and taking more responsibility for their actions.

We read paraphrases from the books, Sophie Gets Angry, Really, Really Angry by Molly Bang; Airport by Byron Barton and Fantastic Flying Machines Level 1 from Reading A-Z.

Highlights:

This week we explored the Makerspace for the first time this year.  We experimented with hands-on, cause and effect learning with the magnetic wall, tile marble roll and scarves in the wind tunnel.  Our class will be visiting this exciting learning space twice a month throughout the year.

Donations:

We would appreciate donations of paper towels and Dixie cups.

You children have been showing their expanding curiosity and giving hearts by listening attentively to storytime and sharing cooperatively with their friends.  Please email or call me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Ms. Marie
