Ms. Sarah Update 2-1-19

Hello Families,

We've had a fun and busy week continuing to learn about the earth and the ways we can care for it, learning about the letters Mm, Nn, and Ww, talking about the number 9, and finding star and heart shapes.  Today we went to the maker's space here at school and got to explore some new materials.  Next week we are going to finish up this unit, learning more about how we can reduce what we use, reuse what we have, and recycle that which we no longer have use for.
Thank you all for your quick responses in setting up conferences!  I am looking forward to talking with you about all the great things your children are doing here in school.
One of our goals here in preschool is to assist your children in increasing their self-help skills.  This includes taking off and putting on coats and backpacks, washing hands and taking care of the items around us (toys, art supplies, etc). When able we encourage you to support these important skills at home as it will provide your children with opportunities to celebrate their abilities and practice caring for themselves to the degree they are able.
Our Valentines party will be on Thursday the 14th at the end of the day (10:30 for am class, 2:30 for our pm class).  Please contribute a snack/treat if you would like! We have 16 students in our morning class, and 14 students in our afternoon class.  If you're child is planning on bringing valentines please make sure she/he brings one for each member of our class.
Let me know if you have any questions, concerns or things to share with the class!
Thank you so very much for all you do!
Ms. Sarah, Ms. Michelle, and Ms. Val
