Ms. Tori’s Update 5-10-19

Hello Preschool Families!!

We hope that you enjoy the long weekend! Happy Mother’s Day!!

A Week in Review:

·      We spilt our class into little groups and worked as a team to build a house for Herman. The teams got to pick what material they were going to use. They needed to make sure that there was a roof, walls and a way in and out for Herman, the pig. We then tested our houses against the big bad wolf (fan). All our of houses were able to withstand the gusts from the big bad wolf. Yay!

·      We continued our talk about money. We counted $0.07 and practiced how to write the amount.

·      We worked with letters, Uu, Vv, Ww and Xx. We talked about things that started with that letter and how to form that letter. We practiced saying the sound with Baby Echo. We also practiced writing the letters

·      We worked with the sight word, to.  We practiced writing them, and reading it in a book.

What to Expect:

·       Letters:  Yy and Zz

·       Sight Word: my

·       The number: starting to talk money – $0.08, Eight Cents & $0.09, Nine Cents

A reminder that as, the weather starts to get warmer, Please make sure that your child comes with a coat/ jacket / sweater (please put their name on the inside tag) because we also value getting kids outside to play and it can still be chilly! If you child doesn’t know how to put on their coat or work their zippers, it’s something to start actively teaching and practicing. Now is also the time to check the 2nd set of clothes in your child’s backpack.  They also may have grown too.
