March 2019 Wrap Around Parent Newsletter

Themes:This month is a short 3 weeks and then we embark on the coveted spring break!! This month we will be learning about Dr. Seuss throughout the week in March. We will celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd. Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!! The children will be reading all of his fun books and creating a hat with patterns. On Wacky Wednesday the children will be painting by holding the paint brush with their toes and the children will be lacing a pocket to draw a wocket. The following week the children will be learning and exploring the rainforest. Finally, the last week in March will be all about St. Patrick’s Day. The children will be learning about the Irish heritage and history of this holiday while creating fun crafts and stem projects. Academics:The children will be re-introduced to colors yellow, blue and green. We are also discussing the lower case letters y, x, z, q. towards the end of the month we will start by reintroducing the alphabet from the beginning A,B,C and D. They will work on how to write the letters and about the sounds of the letters. They will be reintroduced to the shapes hexagon, heptagon and octagon. Our sight words this month are The, It, and For. Important Information:Registration for Wrap Around Summer Camp is open for all families. We will have a fun filled program which will include Enrichment, STEM Opportunities, Field Trips and Water Splash days every week. The Summer 2019 program will be hosted at Grand View Elementary (6601 Aggregate Blvd, Frederick, CO 80516). This location will also host a School Age (1st to 5th grade) summer programming so families can bring both ages to one location. The summer program is tuition-based, and we are able to accept the Colorado Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) for the Adams, Boulder and Weld counties. Registration is still open but will fill up fast. Please contact Alicia if you would like to enroll orhave any questions. Spring break is March 25th– March 29th. There is no school or wrap care this week. Enjoy the week off! As weather is changing please make sure your child has proper attire for outside playground time. Please provide a extra set of clothes in your child’s backpack or leave in their cubby for any accident’s that they may have. We will provide a small clear container when a child has an accident . Per licensing and for safety we are not allowed to use plastic bags. Please return the tubs to wrap around and any extra clothes your child mayhave borrowed. March 14th and 15th: Spirit Day- PJ Day $1 to PTO
