Ms. Marie’s January 2018 Newsletter
Dear Preschool Families:
Happy New Year! We hope you had a restful holiday with family and friends. It was wonderful to see those of you that were able to attend our winter celebrations. Thank you so much for your generous gifts and donations!
Congratulations AM and PM families for achieving perfect attendance the first day back to school after winter break! The Saint Vrain Valley School District promotes the importance of consistent attendance as one of the most significant factors in determining if a student will do well in school, graduate and be prepared for success in future grades, their careers and postsecondary education. Your commitment through regular attendance in preschool will support your child in school and throughout their life. Please remember that the AM class starts promptly at 8:30 am and 12:25 pm respectively.
We are still studying our Health/Exercise STEM unit until January 22nd. We will continue our focus on healthy food choices and exercise. Before winter break the children had many questions for a visiting nurse and practiced yoga with a yoga instructor. Our STEM design challenge will be the creation of an exercise video. Our next STEM unit will be on Weather.
We apologize that, due to registration, the students did not get to check out books today at the library. Our class will return to the library Tuesday, Jan 16th.
Parent/Family Volunteer Training:
There is a Volunteer Training this Thursday Jan. 4 from 8:30 to 10:00 am – facilitated by Paige Gordon, Administrator. More trainings will be offered occasionally throughout the school year. Please contact me so we can talk about your plans for volunteering. Remember that all training and paperwork must be completed and on file before you can begin.

We are continuing to work on our colors, shapes, numbers counting from 1-10, and working with small sets of objects and patterns.
The 5th Starpower Reward party will be board games on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Encourage your children to talk to you about ways they can and have earned “Starpower” at school.
Important Dates:
Friday, January 5, 2018: The Deadline for turning in your packet to register your current Spark! Discovery student for a spot next year is this Friday, January 5, 2018.
Monday, January 15, 2018: Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, no preschool.
Thursday, January 25: PTO PJ day. Please have your child wear their PJ’s and bring $1.00 to support our school.
