Spark! Discovery Preschool offers high-quality preschool programming across all school communities in the district. For the 2023-2024 school year, both an AM (8:30 am – 11:10 am) and PM (12:25 – 3:05 pm) session will be offered, Monday-Thursday with some full-day, options available. Questions? What is Universal Preschool? Universal Preschool (UPK) in Colorado ensures that every child (four years of age on or before Oct 1st), in the year before they are eligible for kindergarten, is eligible for free preschool beginning in the 2023-24 school year. Three-year-olds with certain qualifying factors are eligible for part-day (10 hours) preschool programming.

Application and Registration Process?
We’re excited for the opportunities that Universal Preschool will bring to our community beginning in the fall of 2023.
- Registration for the 2023-2024 school year begins Tuesday, January 17 at 8 am.
- Children who are four years old on or before October 1 (in the year before they are eligible for kindergarten) will receive free part-day preschool.
- Opportunities for additional hours of free preschool are available at certain schools for qualifying 4-year-olds. Qualifying 3-year-olds are eligible for part-day (10 hours) of preschool programming.
- Tuition-based and scholarship opportunities are also available for 3-year-olds.
To register for the 2023-24 school year:
- Apply online through Universal Preschool Colorado at https://upk.colorado.gov/. Families with eligible preschoolers for the 2023-2024 must apply here regardless of how they qualified for preschool this school year. Applications start being accepted at 8:00 am today. Please apply here today to get your child attached to our school. The email you enter here will be the email where notifications are sent throughout this process.
- Accept your preschool placement match through UPK. Timing on this notification is TBD, as it will be done through the Bridgecare software used by the state of Colorado with UPK. We expect this to start in mid-Feb.
- Complete the district registration (will be sent via email after placement matched by the state’s application system). We will have systems for school-based registration in place through Infinite Campus.
