In November, our staff was trained by Margaret Ochoa, Child Sexual Abuse Specialist with the Colorado Department of Public Safety, School Safety Resource Center. During this training, Ms. Ochoa, a former assistant county attorney in child protection in Jefferson County, discussed and trained our staff about the characteristics of perpetrators, how to spot predatory behaviors, typical and atypical human sexual development trajectories, the range of sexualized behaviors in children, phases of exploitation, and practices related to safe-touch and supervision within our specific site. We were thrilled to have her come to our school for such an important topics.
