Dear Families,
Thursday folders yesterday contained two copies of your child’s individual learning plans. Please sign and return one copy and add any parent comments that you wish to share with me. I will keep these in your child’s records for planning goals. The other copy is for you to keep.
Our learning about Pets has been a lot of fun so far. Thank you to those of you who shared your pet pictures with me, and I also realize that some of you may not have any pets. If you had forgotten to email me the picture, I copied it from your completed All About Me book if you turned that in at the beginning of the school year to add to our wall. We also are making a class book about our Pets. If you did not get me a picture of your pets and would like to do so, feel free to email me still.
Also, if any of you have any small pets like a hamster or lizard that is in a cage, and would be interested in arranging for your pet to visit for a day, please email me about that. My parents have a turtle that I am hoping can come visit one day, and I am planning for our class to adopt a fish by the end of our unit of study.
I have completed progress reports for all students with IEPs and will be sending those home in the folders next Thursday. These are just for your information. If you do not know what an IEP is this does not apply to your child:)
Hopefully next week will be a normal week with no more snow days! I felt very off this week not having our morning class two days, and I am sure that was not easy for your kiddos to be off routine either.
We have introduced letters and sounds up to O and P this week, so you can review all the previous letters and sounds together at home now. We are also going to try to change our arrival routine to not go to the bathroom as a whole group not that we consistently have Wanda who can take children to the bathroom, so that we have more learning and play time each day. The class bathroom break was taking up to 15 minutes each day and with our short school day I want to make every minute of learning count! If you could please have your child use the restroom before you leave the house to come to school, this would be very helpful! Thanks so much!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ms. Amy, Ms. Catalina (Cathy), and Ms. Wanda
