Announcements:
This Wednesday, our school is participating in Project Produce. Students will go to our own mini Farmer’s Market in the cafeteria and select produce to bring home!
Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming soon! A schedule request was sent home Thursday. Please return this ASAP so I can schedule our conference at a time that works for you.
Curriculum:
STEM: We will continue to work on our Friends and Families Unit. This week we will get to share our All About My Family bags and look at the different things we do with our families.
Literacy: We will be reviewing the letters E, F, H, I, L, and T. Our Zoophonics signals help us remember what sounds these letters make as well as working on how to write them.
Math: Sets and Sorting. This is a month-long focus on how we classify objects based on different properties such as color, shape, use, and more.
Social Emotional: Last week we explored things that make us mad or scared. This week we dive deeper into the idea that even though some feelings are uncomfortable it is ok to have them. Often preschoolers think having these feelings is wrong. Instead we will work towards the understanding that it is how we choose to act that can cause problems.
Important Dates:
Wednesday, 9/21 is Project Produce. Be sure to send your child with a backpack.
Date Correction! Wednesday, 9/28 is Picture Day for both AM and PM classes. You can either send your payment in now or the day of pictures.
Parent Teacher Conferences are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, October 4-6.
REMEMBER:
If your child hasn’t brought in their All About Me Bag, please send it in as soon as possible. We are sharing them this week. If you need a new bag, please ask. We’ll be happy to get you one.
Remember to have your child write their name on their homework. This lets them practice and helps me know who turned in the work.
Please have your child use the restroom before bringing him or her to school if possible.
Keep your child prepared for Colorado’s changeable weather. Please put sunscreen on your child before school and send them in weather appropriate clothing.
From the Office:
The office is looking for volunteers to help on both Picture Days (both 9/27 and 9/28).
