Childcare Newsletter for April 2019

Themes:Welcome to spring time and warmer weather!! This month we are learning about the Spring seasonthe first week. The children will create fun spring art such as handprint rainbows and fingerprintflowers. They will also be exploring skittles in water. The second week we will be exploring bugs. Thechildren will be creating a sponge painted butterfly and an inch worm with beads. They will beexperimenting with growing gummy worms and fizzing caterpillar’s. The next week the children will belearning about the ocean. They will be learning about water density and layers of the ocean. Theywill explore what animals live in the ocean. The last week we will be discussing earth day. Thechildren will learn about ways to help our world and keep it clean as we celebrate Earth Day. Academics:The children will be reintroduced to the colors red, orange, pink, and purple. We will continue toreintroduce the letters of E, F,G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S. They will work on how to write theletters and about the sounds of the letters. They will be reintroduced to the shapes circle, triangle,square and rectangle. Our sight words this month are go, in, a, and I. Important Information: Please dress children appropriate to the weather and you may need to apply sunscreen in themorning before dropping off at school if the weather is really warm. Please make sure your child has extra clothes at all times including pants/short, shirts, socks andunderwear. Please label all clothes, water bottles and lunches with your child’s name. April 11th-12th: Dress like a Superhero $1 to PTO (no masks or weapons) April 20th: Annual Spark Carnival 5pm– 7pm/ soft opening from 4pm– 5pm for special needschildren and families April 25th-26th: PJ Day for PTO bring $1 April 25th: Take your child to work day! Please be sure to call your child out of school if they willbe going to work with you. No school/Wrap on April 29th, 2019
