Dear Families and Parents:
Wrapping up the Year… As we wrap up a wonderful school year, we want to thank all of our amazing families for your support, laughter, and partnership throughout the year. Watching your children grow, learn, and shine is such a joy for all of us!
We’ll miss our friends and look forward to seeing some of them for the ’25-’26 school year. To our preschool graduates — we are so proud of you! You’ve learned so much and are ready for your next big adventure. Good luck in kindergarten! We’ll miss you and know you’ll do great!
Enrollment for next year… We continue to enroll for next year. As we get notified about students being accepted by UPK at the state level, then at the district level, we have begun sending out information to each family as we receive these notifications. The early childhood department in our school district is tasked with assigning the schedule and handling all placements. Call Amy Yanez if you feel you are missing communication at 720-652-7906.
Communicating about next year… We will send information again at the beginning of June and again at the beginning of August, via email using Infinite Campus.
SUMMER OFFICE HOURS:
- Last day of School – School is out on Thursday, May 22. This is also the last day for childcare.
- Last day for most staff – Teachers have a workday Friday, May 23, and all classroom staff will be gone for the summer after Friday the 23rd.
- Monday, May 26 – Memorial Day – the front office / school is closed.
- Office Hours from Tuesday, May 27 – Thursday, June 10, 2024 – During these dates, the office will be open from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm from Mon – Friday. Some office staff will be working at Spark! Discovery Preschool in the front office. No teaching staff will be working.
- Summer Break – Office is closed: Wednesday, June 11 to Thursday, July 31, our school and front office will be closed for summer break. There will be a message on our phone about who families can call at the school district level if they have questions about registration or getting registered during the summer even though the school-based office is closed.
- Reopening for the ’25 – ’26 school year: Thursday, August 1 at 8:00 am, our front office will reopen. Teachers will report back to work August 6.

PTO May Fundraiser — From the Spark! Discovery PTO — We couldn’t start summer break without one last restaurant night!! Join us at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, May 14th, from 4-8 PM and EVERY Pineapple Dragon fruit Drink or Smokehouse BBQ Sandwich sold will earn $1.00 towards our school, no flyer needed! A message from our Health Clerk: Hello Spark Families! There will be a lot to celebrate as the year comes to an end. OUR CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR is… DRUM ROLL PLEASE… Eva is a diligent and hard-working preschool paraprofessional (teacher assistant) at Spark! Discovery Preschool who demonstrates dedication to students and to her own professional growth. She works with students in Ms. Kaylee’s full day preschool classroom. Her exceptional attendance ensures that our students have a consistent and supportive presence in the preschool classroom every day, which is crucial in early childhood education, where stability and routine help young learners thrive. Beyond her commitment to our students, Eva is also deeply invested in their own professional development as an educator. She is currently furthering their education through coursework at CU Denver’s Nuestros Ninos and participating in the St. Vrain Valley School District’s P-Teach program. Her quest for learning not only enhances her own skills but also enriches our classroom environment. She is a team player, assisting her classroom team (students, specialists, the teacher, and other paraprofessionals) using kindness, caring, flexible, and an abundance of patience. In the larger school environment, she is positive, friendly, and always willing to help her peers, creating a positive climate and culture. When we shared the news with her, she teared up and said, “…It’s so amazing that I get paid to be around children to help them learn and play!!!” In addition to school-based recognition, she will be recognized at the SVVSD Welcome Back ceremony in August of 2025 for classified staff.
