Hello Preschool Families!!
We hope that you enjoyed your long weekend. We had a great week. We were able to earn all of our Star Power Tickets and go to the reward party. This month it was a Board Game Party. It was a lot of fun. 🙂
This week:
· We talked about The Three Little Pigs. We went into Makerspace for our Design Challenge. Our challenge for this unit was to create a house that the Big Bad Wolf (a.k.a A Blow Dryer) could not blow down. The students had a lot of fun working with their friends to create a house for the pigs.
· We did a review of the colors, Red Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and Pink. We looked for the colors in our classroom and outside.
· Talked about the number seven. How do we write 7? Can we find 7 objects? Is there a poem to remember how to write the number 7?
· We reviewed the shapes, circle, square, triangle and rectangle. How do we draw each shape? How many sides and points does each shape have? We looked for things that were in the shape of a circle, square, triangle and rectangle in our classroom, gym and outside.
· We worked on the Letters, Ll, Ff, Ee, Hh. We practiced writing them, building them with wood and creating them with play dough. We also talked about different words that start with those letters.
Next Week:
- Library on Monday, January 23th, 2017
- Letters: Tt, Ii, Uu, Cc
- The number: Eight
- The color: White and Gray
- The Shape: Oval
- Sight word: like
- New STEM Unit: Simple Machine: What are simple machines?
Thank you for your support! Working with your preschooler at home really makes a difference.
