Dear Preschool Families:
It was a delight to see some of you and your children at Trick-or-Treat Street!
November is here and we are in the middle of our Nursery Rhyme STEM unit. In the nursery rhyme, Little Miss Muffet, a spider scared Little Miss Muffet. This week, the children learned more about what spiders look like and do. The children also sang the Itsy Bitsy spider.
Encourage your children to tell you the nursery rhymes they have been learning. Have fun with your children by thinking of words that rhyme with vocabulary you come across each day.
I will be sending out individual learning plans in the next two weeks.
Dress for the Weather:
The weather is quite cold on some days. Please make sure your child is dressed to go outside. if you haven’t started already, one way you can help foster your child’s independence and confidence is by beginning to teach them to put their coats on by themselves. If they are still learning to put their coat on by themselves, encourage them to help by finding their sleeves while you hold their coat. Many children are proud when they zip (or finish zipping after you start the zipper) or button their coat up by themselves. Self help skills are one of the ways young children grow. Doing these things, or part of them, on their own helps children develop independence and confidence as they earn how to take care of their own needs.
