Ms. Amy & Ms. Hilary’s Monthly News
It is hard to believe that it is already February. We have been learning so many great things, that the year is just flying by. Our Reduce, Reuse, Recycle unit was fun and we really learned a lot. We discovered what recycling is, what can be recycled, how to reuse everyday items, where our trash goes after we throw it away and what we can do to help reduce our impact on the earth. Now, off to our next unit!

Valentine’s Day Celebration and preparation
We would love to see how creative the kids can get in making a Valentine’s mailboxes for our party! The sky is the limit. Please:
Let your child’s creativity soar
Have an opening large enough for at least a small hand to fit in
Put your child’s name somewhere on the box
Bring your mailbox to class the morning/afternoon of the 14th
Please join us in class on the 14th for a snack, crafts and fun! We again have a parent helping us plan the celebration so look for information in Thursday folders the week before.
As for Valentines….
Please have one for each child in class (AM 12, PM 12)
No need to write each child’s name, just your child’s on each
Trinkets are always fun (but not necessary)
Please try and stick to healthy treats if you plan to bring any
Reminders
· Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather and comes with a coat, gloves and a hat. We do go outside if the weather permits.
· When it is really cold out, you’re always welcome to sign in at the front office and bring your child to class inside as opposed to waiting outside of our door at drop-off.
· Please check your child’s backpack daily and especially on Thursdays for important information.
· Remember to collect the items from your child’s Thursday folder and then to send the folder back on Monday. We put papers in it throughout the week.
· READ, READ, READ and fill out your monthly reading log as you do. Your student can turn in a completed log for a prize. MyON is also a great reading option. Your account information should be on the front of your child’s Thursday folder.
