What a great first week it was! We had a lot of fun getting to know students and routines this week, and will continue to do so as we round out the month of August. Thank you for your efforts and support that helped make our first week successful.
Each week I’ll send out classroom updates, reminders, and requests. Please let me know if you’d prefer a paper copy instead of an email. Here are the reminders for this week: – FORMS if you still have any forms that need to be returned to the us, please do so as soon as possible. I will be checking in with each family individually to let them know if their paperwork is complete or what forms are missing. – BATHROOM Since we don’t have a bathroom in our classroom we are requesting that parents ask their children to use the restroom before coming to school. We have scheduled bathroom breaks about halfway through the program, which is a bit long for some children. While we can take students at their request, we’d prefer not to interrupt their work time. – SNACKS Each day our cafeteria provides a snack to all students. We understand that some of these snacks are not appealing to students, but please refrain from sending in personal snacks. If your child has an allergy, you are always welcome to send in a substitute snack as long as it matches our snack as closely as possible (e.g. non-dairy yogurt for regular yogurt, gluten-free products to replace wheat products, etc.) Alternative forms of milk are fine, just label them with your child’s first and last name. – FAMILY PICTURES If you haven’t already done so, please send us a family photo that we can display in the classroom. You can use as many photos as necessary and you can email them to us to print as well. Working with students this past week was truly a joy. Cheers to the fabulous year ahead!
