Dear Spark! Parents / Families,
On behalf of our School Accountability Committee and the Design / Leadership Team I am excited to send this survey to measure key components of quality preschool programming at Spark! Discovery Preschool. In order to increase the quality of our preschool programming, we need your input, ideas, and opinions.
This survey is one of many evaluation tools we use to gauge quality in our school, including:
- Teacher-developed formative assessments
- Teaching Strategies GOLD summative assessments
- Norm-referenced Phonological Awareness Linguistics Survey (PALS) for all exiting preschoolers
- Early Childhood Environmental Ratings Survey (assess the learning environment and interactions)
- Colorado Shines, a quality rating system currently being implemented state wide (assess the quality of the programming at any preschool in Colorado)
- Our continuous improvement process and quality improvement process, with the School Accountability committee (consisting of a parent-teacher representative, staff, parents, administration, and a business partner from IBM) and with the Design/Leadership Team (comprised of staff).
When you receive the email with the survey link in it, please complete the survey by 5 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. All responses are guaranteed confidential, and they are coded by teacher so we can sort results by teacher so that your responses, trends, and comments can be shared with your child’s teacher at the end of the school year. After summarizing the results, he school will report the results of the survey and actions we will take as a result at the beginning of the 2019 – 2020 school year.
Your time and effort in completing and returning this survey will help our school to document our progress and make changes as a result of new information in order to improve the quality of our programming. We truly appreciate your assistance and time!
Sincerely — Paige Gordon, Administrator
