Join us for our all-school Art Show at Spark!
We will celebrate all the creativity in our Annual Art Show. You can view your child’s art projects, which will be with their class display.
On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 3:30 – 4:30 pm (Main Event) in the halls of Spark! Discovery Preschool. Class art will be displayed outside of each teacher’s preschool classroom in our school’s hallways. Preschool teachers will be there from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Our librarian, Ms. Jenn will have a family engagement activity for families during this time in our school’s cafeteria.
If that date for the art show at Spark! doesn’t match up with schedules, families can take a self-guided tour of the hallways and stop in to view the projects on Thursday and Friday, April 9 – 10, 2026, before or after school.
Also, a small number of outstanding student work will be selected for display in our school’s portion of the SVVSD district-wide art show at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. The SVVSD Art Show will be held from April 14–19, 2026, at the Boulder County Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall in Longmont (9595 Nelson Road) from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. For preschool students selected for the district-wide art show, there will be an artists’ night open house at the fairgrounds on Thursday, April 16 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm. Teachers will notify families if their work will be displayed at the SVVSD art show.

Enjoy Araya K.’s (age 3) award winning colored-pencil Art project, recognized in the SVVSD 2024 art show.
With respect – Paige Gordon, Principal – Spark! Discovery Preschool

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool
St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform. After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications. Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.

Campus Supervisor – Kara Mahan
I would like to take this opportunity to share a new community resource from the Frederick-Firestone Fire District. Kristen’s Closet provides free medical and mobility equipment to residents who need temporary support while recovering from surgery, injury, or other mobility-related challenges. These items can be costly to rent or purchase, and this program exists to ease that burden and support our neighbors during times of need. They have a variety of mobility-aiding tools available at no cost, including: Wheelchairs, Transfer chairs, Walkers, Knee scooters, Canes, Crutches, Shower chairs, Stair-assist canes, and and more.
Please note that equipment is available on a loan basis. If you or a loved one could benefit from one of these items, visit the webpage https://www.fffd.us/kristen-s-closet or call 303-833-2742 during normal business hours with questions. If you have any questions reach out to Kara at [email protected].

CHILD FIND AND EARLY INTERVENTION:
Each district is required to have a child find process to inform the public and to identify children ages 3 to 21 who may be eligible to receive special education services. The District Child Find Assessment Team is a district level team that provides quality, child focused screenings and evaluations for children ages 3-5 and supports building level teams for students in grades K-12. Evaluation referrals come from a variety of sources including: families, community agencies, child care, preschools, medical providers and school staff. The School District of residence for any child ages 3 through 21 is required to “Child Find” students who may have an educational disability as defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Educational Act. For more information on the Child Find process please visit the links below:
- Early Intervention Colorado – Birth through Age 2 (Intervention does not need to wait! If there are concerns for children who are infants through age 2, please call for an evaluation/screening and potentially receive services in the home!)
- Child Find – Preschool (Ages 3-5)
For any additional questions or to schedule an evaluation, please contact Jodie, in the SVVSD Child Find office at 303-772-6649.
