Ms. Amy’s Update 1-8-18

Hope you all had a wonderful break and are doing well getting back on the school schedule.  Just a reminder we do NOT have school on Friday, January 12th and Monday, January 15th.  This week is our final week of the STEM unit Nursery Rhymes.  We have talked about rhyming words, singing nursery rhymes, reading nursery rhymes and using miniatures and puppets to re-tell nursery rhymes. Our STEM project will be to see what will protect an egg from cracking when dropped.  I COULD USE YOUR HELP IN TWO WAYS.1.  I need 2-3 dozen hard-boiled eggs brought to class on both Wednesday and Thursday for our activity.  Please e-mail me directly if you can volunteer for this.  2.  HOMEWORK–please fill up a bag (preferably paper) with something you think would protect the egg from cracking.  Examples are:  rice, cereal, paper, gift wrap, noodles, rice, beans…….etc.  Feel free to be creative with this activity.
