Hello, Preschool parents!  Over the last two weeks, our class participated in the Design Challenge Process. Design Challenges are open-ended, creative projects where students work together to solve a real-world problem. In this case, we read a book called A Home for Dixie, then challenged the children to create some kind of carrier that would help us to get a dog like Dixie home safely from the shelter. We provided a wide variety of recycled materials for the children to use to build a prototype of the carrier they designed in groups. They were definitely very creative; their designs included carriers with beds, food, toys, drinking fountains, wheels, and even a remote control!
