Ms. Tori’s update 4-30-17

Hello Preschool Families!!

We hope that you are enjoying the crazy and beautiful weather.

A Week in Review:

·      We watched as our caterpillars created their chrysalis. We also talked about the parts of an Insect like they all have six legs, a head, thorax, abdomen, and some have wings. Many of the insect life cycles were similar.

·      We talked about the numbers fourteen. How do we write 14? Can we find 14 objects?  Is there a poem to remember how to write the numbers 14?

·      We talked about ovals. How do we draw an oval? How many sides and points does an oval have? We played the game It is or Is not an oval? We looked for things that were in the shape of an oval in our classroom and outside. We compared ovals and circles to see what was the same and what was different.

·        We worked on the letters, Mm, Nn, Ww, Xx.  We practiced writing them on white boards and spotting them with bingo dabbers. We also talked about different words that start with each letter.

·      We talked about the color Blue. We looked who was wearing the color blue and what colors we could find in our classroom and outside. We also sang a song about the color blue.

What to Expect:

  • Letters: Yy, Zz
  •  The number: Fifteen, 15
  • The color: Purple
  •   The Shape:
  •   Sight word: you
  • STEM Unit: Talking about the Human Cycle. What is a baby, child, adult, and elderly?
