Valentine’s Day Celebrations
Our celebrations will be held in the classrooms during the school day. Here’s the schedule for our Valentine’s Day celebrations:
- AM Preschool Classes: Thursday, Feb 12, 10:30 – 11:10 am
- PM Preschool Classes: Thursday, Feb 12, 2:25 – 3:05 pm
- Full-Day Preschool Class: Thursday, Feb 12, 2:25 – 3:05 pm
Each classroom teacher will share the specific details of their celebration, including any special instructions they have for families and parents about their special plans. Our teachers will be planning “goodies” for the celebrations, which may include goody bags to take home or treats to enjoy during the party (potentially with or without edible items). Please note that due to health and allergy concerns, it’s important to consult your child’s teacher before purchasing or providing any items. Each teacher will provide guidelines about what’s safe and appropriate for their class.
Alternative Activities: If your family prefers a child not to participate in the Valentine’s Day celebration, please let your child’s teacher know by Monday, February 9, 2026. We will provide alternative activities for any children who opt out. If you’d like to pick up your child early, that’s fine too.

News from the Health Clerk
Hello Spark families! Just a reminder that General Health Appraisal forms are mandatory and must be kept up to date for state licensing purposes. Please note that the form is valid for 1 year from the date of the most recent physical exam and not from the date that the form was signed. Notices are sent home to parents with student’s that will have a form expiring. Please understand that the health appraisal form is a crucial part of our license process and it is very important that you respond to the notice once received. If you have any questions about these guidelines please reach out to our Health Clerk, Amanda Rivera: [email protected] or 720-652-7906.

News from the Attendance/Registrar
Homelessness affects students in the St. Vrain Valley School District in ways that often go unseen, creating barriers to learning, stability, and well-being. Students experiencing homelessness may struggle with inconsistent attendance, limited access to school supplies, transportation challenges, and the emotional stress of housing insecurity. As a school community, we can help by increasing awareness, supporting district programs that provide meals, transportation, and academic support, and partnering with local organizations that offer housing assistance and family services. By fostering a compassionate, informed environment and ensuring students and families know their rights and available resources, SVVSD can help remove obstacles to learning and give every student the opportunity to succeed.
The McKinney–Vento Education of Homeless Children and Youth Assistance Act is a federal law that ensures immediate enrollment and educational stability for homeless children and youth. McKinney–Vento provides federal funding to states for the purpose of supporting district programs that serve homeless students. If you or you know someone that is experimenting homelessness Please let your school know or check out this link .
Please contact Amy Yanez, registrar/attendance clerk if you have any questions. [email protected] or 720-652-7906.

News from the Campus Supervisor
Parking lots and streets can be dangerous places for young children. To minimize potential risks for students, we offer the following suggestions when using the parking lots and streets surrounding the Spark! Discovery Preschool campus. Prior to arriving at school, please set clear rules / limits for children, including no running (walking feet), no pushing or roughhousing (safe body), and staying with an adult (stay with mom / dad / etc.). Upon arrival, ensure that an aware adult uses “touch supervision” (staying within arm’s reach) whenever children are outside of the vehicle. For a smooth and safe transition from the vehicle to the classroom, parents and family members are encouraged to minimize distractions and remain attentive to their children. Finally, we ask that everyone use designated walkways and crosswalks whenever possible and remain alert for moving vehicles in the area. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kara Mahan, campus supervisor, at [email protected] or 720-652-7906.
